CBSE Class 12 Physics Exam 2026: Student Preparation and Expectations

In the hours leading up to the examination, students were seen revising important formulas, numerical problems, and key theoretical concepts. Many candidates focused on chapters such as Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetism and Electromagnetic Induction, which traditionally carry higher weightage. Several students expressed expectations that the Physics paper would be moderate to difficult, in line with the board’s recent assessment trends. There was a general hope that the questions would remain strictly based on the NCERT syllabus, without any out-of-syllabus or ambiguous problems. Students also shared that the final revision strategy revolved around practising previous years’ question papers, strengthening conceptual clarity, and revising derivations and definitions likely to appear in short- and long-answer sections.

Teacher Advice and Exam Day Strategy

Ahead of the examination, teachers and subject experts advised candidates to remain calm and utilise the 15-minute reading time effectively. Experts emphasised that carefully reading the question paper and planning answers can help manage time efficiently during the three-hour exam. Educators reiterated that CBSE has consistently framed papers that test conceptual understanding rather than rote learning, encouraging students to present clear explanations and step-by-step solutions in numerical questions.
