The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) continued the Board Examinations 2026 on February 20, 2026, with lakhs of students appearing for their Class 10 and Class 12 papers across India and abroad. The examinations began at 10:30 AM at all designated centres. On Friday, the Class 10 Data Science examination concluded, while Class 12 students appeared for the Physics paper, one of the most crucial subjects in the Science stream.
CBSE Exam Schedule for February 20, 2026
According to the official schedule released by CBSE:
- Class 10 Exam Timing: 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- Class 12 Exam Timing: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
For Class 10, papers held today included Beauty and Wellness, Marketing and Sales, Multi-Media, Multi-Skill Foundation Course, Physical Activity Trainer, and Data Science. Meanwhile, Physics was conducted for Class 12 candidates.
Exams Held in India and Abroad
The CBSE Board Exams 2026 are being conducted not only across India but also in 26 countries abroad, ensuring participation of students enrolled in CBSE-affiliated schools overseas. This year, approximately 46 lakh students are appearing for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations combined.
Reporting Time and Exam Day Advisory
CBSE has instructed all candidates to reach their respective examination centres on or before 10:00 AM to complete verification and security checks smoothly. The board has also cautioned students about possible traffic congestion, route diversions and delays in several cities due to ongoing national and international summits, high-level meetings and other official programmes. Students were advised to plan their travel in advance and strictly follow all exam day instructions mentioned on their admit cards.
Exam Day Guidelines for Students
Candidates appearing for the CBSE Board Exams 2026 must ensure the following:
- Carry the CBSE admit card 2026 and school identity card
- Wear the prescribed school uniform
- Do not carry electronic devices or prohibited items
- Follow seating and verification instructions at the centre
- Maintain discipline and avoid any unfair practices
CBSE has reiterated that any violation of examination rules will invite strict disciplinary action.
Student Reactions and Paper Review
Initial reactions from students indicated a mixed response to the Class 12 Physics paper, with some describing it as moderate while others found certain numerical sections challenging. The Class 10 Data Science paper was largely reported to be balanced and syllabus-based. Subject-wise paper analysis and further updates will continue as more examinations are conducted in the coming days.
