After CEED 2026 Result, Admission Process Explained

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2026 result was declared by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay on 4 March 2026, marking the first key milestone for candidates seeking admission to Master of Design (M.Des) programmes. The CEED scorecard — a crucial document that includes section‑wise scores and total score — will be made available for download online between 10 March and 31 July 2026.

Downloading the CEED 2026 Scorecard

Once the result is released, qualifying candidates must download their CEED 2026 scorecards using their registered login credentials. The scorecard captures details including total score, section marks, minimum qualifying marks and category‑wise outcomes. It will be available only in digital format and must be kept safe for use during the admission process. )

CEED 2026 Apply to Participating and Result‑Sharing Institutes

After downloading the scorecard, candidates should apply individually to institutes that accept CEED scores for M.Des admissions. There is no single joint counselling conducted by IIT Bombay for CEED candidates; instead, each participating institute manages its own admission cycle, dates and application procedures. Students must select their preferred institutes — including IITs, IISc and other participating colleges — and submit separate applications as required. Applications typically include uploading the CEED scorecard and other academic documents.

Additional Selection Stages CEED 2026 (Tests, Portfolio & Interviews)

Qualifying CEED is only the first step. After applying:

  • Some institutes may conduct a written test or design test to assess candidates further.
  • Many colleges require a portfolio review showcasing design work, projects and creative aptitude.
  • A personal interview or panel discussion is commonly part of the selection process to evaluate design thinking and communication skills

Performance in these additional stages is often considered alongside the CEED score to determine final admission offers.

CEED 2026 Admission Cut‑Offs and Merit Lists

Each institute will release its own admission cut‑offs and merit lists, which depend on factors such as seat availability, the number of applicants, category and performance in written/portfolio/interview rounds. Candidates must carefully check cut‑offs and eligibility criteria for each participating institute to plan their applications effectively. Institutes may offer counselling or seat allotment based on these merit lists.
