At Goa (Dabolim), 11 positions are for Surface Movement Control (SMC), and four are for Air Traffic Control (ATC). Pune has 11 positions for SMC.

AAI Consultant Eligibility Criteria 2026

Applicants must meet the specific service, educational, and professional requirements mentioned in the recruitment notification.

The main eligibility conditions include:

• The applicant must be a retired Short Service Commission Officer of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force or Indian Coast Guard.
• A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university is required.
• The applicant should have completed the prescribed Basic ATC Course/ATM and AL (Basic) and GCA/ATSS Course.
• At least 5 years of cumulative ATC experience is required.
• This must include at least 1 year of ATC duties at a Joint User Defence Airfield.

AAI Consultant Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The maximum age for applying is 50 years as on October 1, 2026.

There is also a condition related to the retirement period. The gap between retirement from the Armed Forces and October 1, 2026, must not be more than six years.

The initial contract is for one year and can be extended by one year at a time. However, the total engagement cannot continue beyond five years or beyond the age of 55 years.

AAI Consultant Salary and Selection Process

The remuneration will be fixed according to the applicable DoPT guidelines. AAI will calculate the monthly amount by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement.

The amount remains unchanged during the contract period, and there is no annual increment. HRA is not admissible, while applicable transport-related allowances are provided according to the prescribed rules. TDS will also be deducted from the remuneration.

There will be no written examination. The selection process includes:
