The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested PV Kulkarni, a chemistry teacher accused of being one of the key figures behind the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak case. The arrest was made on May 15, 2026, during the ongoing investigation into irregularities linked to the national medical entrance examination.

According to investigation officials, Kulkarni was reportedly associated with the examination process on behalf of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and allegedly had access to the NEET UG 2026 Chemistry question paper before the examination.

PV Kulkarni’s Alleged Role in NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak

CBI Investigation in NEET UG 2026 Leak Case

The CBI stated that multiple searches were conducted across different cities during the investigation. The re-examination will now be conducted on Sunday, June 21, 2026, after the original examination held on May 03, 2026, was cancelled due to allegations of widespread paper leak and malpractice.

NTA has advised candidates and parents to rely only on official communication channels for examination-related updates, including admit cards, city intimation slips, and examination instructions.

Alleged Leak Network Spread Across Multiple States

Investigation agencies suspect that the alleged paper leak network operated across multiple states through intermediaries and coaching contacts. Reports linked the circulation of leaked question banks to messaging platforms before the examination.

Officials also stated that several students allegedly paid large sums of money to attend the special coaching sessions where the leaked material was discussed. The CBI has said that the investigation will continue to identify all individuals connected to the alleged malpractice network associated with the NEET UG 2026 examination.
