WBCHSE Releases HS 2026 Enrolment Fee Structure for 4th Semester

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has issued the official fee schedule for the enrolment of Class twelve students appearing for the Higher Secondary 2026 examinations under the ongoing semester system. The council has shared a detailed breakup of all charges applicable for the fourth-semester enrolment, including centre fees, late submission fines, and supplementary examination costs. The notification has been circulated to all Higher Secondary schools across the state to ensure that the collection and submission of fees follow the timelines specified in the schedule.

Fee Structure Announced for HS 2026 Enrolment

The council has listed three key components for each student’s enrolment fee. As per the official schedule, each student appearing for the HS 2026 fourth semester will be required to pay:

  • ₹155 as enrolment fee
  • ₹30 as form-processing charge
  • ₹30 as convenience fee

This brings the total payable enrolment amount to ₹215 per candidate. The council has clarified that out of this ₹215 collection, ₹190 must be remitted to WBCHSE, while ₹25 will remain with the school as the approved centre grant.

Centre Fee Details for Schools

Schools have been asked to collect an additional mandatory fee before the board exams. In addition to the enrolment amount, schools must collect a centre fee of ₹25 per candidate. This amount must be deposited with the centre secretary before the Class twelve board examinations begin. The fee is meant to support the operational requirements of exam centres during the conduct of the Higher Secondary examinations. The instruction applies to all institutions submitting enrolment data for Class twelve candidates under the 2026 cycle.

Late Submission Fine for Institutions

A penalty has been outlined for institutions delaying the submission of enrolment details. The WBCHSE notification states that institutions submitting enrolment forms after the stipulated deadline will have to pay a late fine of ₹150 per candidate. Schools have been advised to avoid delays since the fine will apply to every student listed in the late submission batch. Council officials have emphasised that timely submission is critical for preparing examination logistics under the semester-based structure.

Supplementary Examination Fees

The council has issued a separate fee structure for supplementary students. For students appearing in the supplementary examinations, the council has fixed the following charges:

  • ₹50 per paper as examination fee
  • ₹25 per paper as centre grant

The combined fee will need to be submitted by schools as per the supplementary schedule released separately. This structure applies to candidates who need to reappear for specific subjects under the Higher Secondary semester framework.

Schools Directed to Follow Fee Schedule Strictly

WBCHSE has issued instructions to ensure uniform implementation across institutions. The council has instructed all Higher Secondary schools to:

  • Collect fees strictly according to the notified structure
  • Remit the board’s share within the prescribed timelines
  • Deposit the centre-fee component with the authorised centre secretary
  • Maintain transparency while informing students about each fee component

Authorities have emphasised that timely compliance will ensure a smooth examination process for the HS 2026 cycle.

What Happens Next?

With the fee structure now released, schools are expected to start collecting the enrolment fees immediately. The council is likely to publish further updates on admit card distribution and final examination guidelines in the coming weeks. Schools have been advised to keep a close watch on the official communication channels for any additional instructions.
