The awareness programme, titled “Vaagai Soodava”, was jointly organised to familiarise students with the demands and opportunities of the UPSC exam and TNPSC exam. The initiative aimed to break common misconceptions around civil services preparation and encourage more women to pursue administrative roles. The session highlighted how early planning, disciplined study routines, and clarity about exam stages can significantly improve success rates. Organisers emphasised that competitive exams are not limited to a specific background and can be attempted with the right strategy and guidance.
IPS Officer Shares UPSC Journey and Preparation Insights
The programme featured the Superintendent of Police, Anti-Terrorism Squad, Coimbatore, as the chief guest. Drawing from his own UPSC experience, he explained that consistency, analytical thinking, and conceptual clarity are critical for clearing civil services examinations. He advised aspirants to move beyond rote memorisation and instead focus on understanding issues, current affairs, and answer-writing skills. According to him, sustained effort over time plays a larger role than short-term intensive preparation.
Structured Roadmap for UPSC and TNPSC 2026 Aspirants
Before outlining key preparation takeaways, speakers stressed that aspirants must first understand the exam framework clearly. A step-by-step approach, starting from syllabus analysis to mock testing, was recommended for long-term success. The Chairman of Keystone IAS Academy presented a detailed roadmap for the 2026 examination cycle, explaining the structure of the Preliminary and Main examinations. He encouraged students to begin preparation during their undergraduate studies to gain a competitive advantage and reduce pressure in later years.

The awareness programme began at 10.45 am and included an interactive question-and-answer segment. Students actively sought guidance on optional subject selection, current affairs coverage, and daily study planning for civil services preparation. The session concluded with an appeal to make effective use of mentoring support and academic resources available through institutional guidance centres. The event was conducted under the leadership of the college principal and dean of academics, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to women’s career development.
