UPSC IES/ISS Exam 2026 Registration Begins for 44 Posts

UPSC has begun the registration process for the IES/ISS Exam 2026 for 44 vacancies. Eligible candidates can apply online at upsc.gov.in till March 3, 2026.

UPSC IES/ISS Exam 2026 Registration Begins for 44 Posts

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially started the registration process for the Indian Economic Service (IES) / Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination 2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 44 vacancies. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official website — upsc.gov.in. The last date to apply for the UPSC IES/ISS Exam 2026 is March 3, 2026. Upon successful registration, candidates will receive a Universal Registration Number (URN), which will remain valid for all future UPSC examinations.

 

UPSC IES/ISS 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

 

Nationality

Applicants must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam intending to settle permanently in India.

 

Age Limit

  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
  • They must not have attained 30 years of age as on August 1, 2026.

(Age relaxation for reserved categories will be applicable as per government norms.)

 

UPSC IES/ISS 2026: Application Fee

  • Application Fee: ₹200
  • Exempted Categories: Female candidates, SC/ST candidates, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)

The fee can be paid via:

  • Net Banking
  • Visa/Master/RuPay Credit or Debit Card
  • UPI payment

  3. Complete the registration process and obtain your URN

  5. Pay the required application fee
  6. Submit the form and download the confirmation page
  7. Keep a printed copy for future reference
