UPSC IES/ISS Exam 2026 Registration Begins for 44 Posts

UPSC has begun the registration process for the IES/ISS Exam 2026 for 44 vacancies. Eligible candidates can apply online at upsc.gov.in till March 3, 2026.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially started the registration process for the Indian Economic Service (IES) / Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination 2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 44 vacancies. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official website — upsc.gov.in. The last date to apply for the UPSC IES/ISS Exam 2026 is March 3, 2026. Upon successful registration, candidates will receive a Universal Registration Number (URN), which will remain valid for all future UPSC examinations.
UPSC IES/ISS 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
Nationality
Applicants must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam intending to settle permanently in India.
Age Limit
- Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
- They must not have attained 30 years of age as on August 1, 2026.
(Age relaxation for reserved categories will be applicable as per government norms.)
UPSC IES/ISS 2026: Application Fee
- Application Fee: ₹200
- Exempted Categories: Female candidates, SC/ST candidates, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
The fee can be paid via:
- Net Banking
- Visa/Master/RuPay Credit or Debit Card
- UPI payment
