UPSC CSE 2025: Akansh Dhull Secures AIR 3, SRCC Graduate

Akansh Dhull has secured All India Rank 3 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. The SRCC graduate improved from AIR 342 in UPSC CSE 2023 after preparing for the exam since 2021. The UPSC has announced vacancies for IAS, IFS, IPS and other central services through the 2025 examination.

UPSC CSE 2025: Akansh Dhull Secures AIR 3, SRCC Graduate

Akansh Dhull has secured All India Rank (AIR) 3 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 final result announced by the Union Public Service Commission. The Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) graduate achieved a place among the top three candidates after years of preparation.

 

Originally born in Rohtak, Dhull later moved with his family to Panchkula. After completing his schooling in Chandigarh, he pursued BCom (Hons) from SRCC, Delhi University, and began preparing for the civil services examination in 2021.

Akansh Dhull had earlier appeared for the civil services examination and secured AIR 342 in UPSC CSE 2023. The significant improvement in his rank highlights his sustained preparation and commitment to the examination.

 

During his time at SRCC, Dhull chose not to participate in campus placement opportunities. Instead, he focused on preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, which he described as a long-term aspiration.

 

In interviews during his preparation phase, Dhull explained that his decision to pursue civil services was influenced by both academic interest and encouragement from his family. He also noted that growing up in Haryana helped him understand the impact administrative services can have on governance and public welfare.

 

Dhull’s family background also reflects a connection to education, as his mother works as a school principal.

 

UPSC CSE 2025 Top Rank Holders

The UPSC CSE 2025 merit list includes candidates from diverse educational backgrounds, including medicine, engineering, and commerce. The following candidates secured the top ranks this year.

These candidates will now be considered for appointments to various civil services based on their rank, preferences, and available vacancies.

 

UPSC CSE 2025 Vacancies for IAS, IFS and Other Services

The UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 will fill vacancies across several prestigious services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other Central Services under Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.

 

For the Indian Administrative Service, a total of 180 vacancies are available. The category-wise distribution is listed below.

In addition, the overall recruitment process includes 1,087 total vacancies, with 42 posts reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). The distribution includes 10 vacancies for PwBD-1, 14 for PwBD-2, 9 for PwBD-3, and 9 for PwBD-5.

 

For the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), the commission has announced 55 vacancies, including 22 for General category, 15 for OBC, 8 for SC, 6 for EWS and 4 for ST candidates.

 

Appointments to these services will be finalised based on the UPSC CSE 2025 final merit list, candidate preferences, and vacancy availability, in accordance with the Civil Services Examination Rules 2025.
