UP TET 2026 Exam Date Confirmed, and Revised Schedule Details

The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) 2026 has been scheduled to be conducted on 29 and 30 January 2026. This examination is mandatory for candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary (Classes 1–5) and upper primary (Classes 6–8) schools across Uttar Pradesh. The UP TET exam, which had faced repeated postponements and uncertainty in recent years, is now slated for the end of January 2026. Candidates preparing for teaching careers in government and aided schools must take this state-level eligibility test to qualify for recruitment processes.

 

UP TET 2026 Exam Schedule and Format

The examination will be held over two days, with Paper 1 and Paper 2 as per the UP TET structure:

  • 29 January 2026: UP TET Paper 1 and/or Paper 2
  • 30 January 2026: UP TET Paper 1 and/or Paper 2

Each paper covers different sections aligned with teaching competencies for primary and upper primary levels. Exact reporting times and shift details will be mentioned in the admit card issued closer to the exam.

To appear in UP TET 2026, candidates generally need a relevant educational qualification such as D.El.Ed., B.El.Ed., or B.Ed., along with meeting age and other criteria specified in the official notification. Preparing past papers and familiarising with the exam pattern and key topics is advised for competitive performance. Applicants are encouraged to complete the registration early once the notification is out, verify eligibility details, and prepare systematically to secure qualifying marks in the Teacher Eligibility Test.
