The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UPMSP) has released the UP Board exam 2026 centre allocation policy. The board has increased the student capacity per exam centre from 2,000 to 2,200. This year, four double-locked shelves will be provided at each centre to ensure the security of question papers.
UP Board Exam 2026 Centre Allocation
The board has adopted a digital, computer-based system to determine exam centres using infrastructure and geographical data. The allocation will ensure students are assigned a centre within 7 to 15 kilometres of their location. The centre determination process will start on November 10, 2025, and conclude by December 30, 2025.
Schools with laboratory facilities and CCTV systems will be given priority. Centres with higher student-holding capacity will receive more points in the selection process. For the first time, schools marking their attendance online have also been awarded 10 additional points toward centre allocation.
Security Measures for Question Papers
To strengthen security, each exam centre will be equipped with four double-locked cabinets to store question papers safely. Last year, only three cabinets were provided.
Student Strength and Exam Schedule
Over 52 lakh students are expected to appear for the UP Board exam 2026 for classes 10 and 12. Registrations for high school exams have increased, while intermediate student numbers have decreased by approximately 2.25 lakh.
The UP Board exams 2026 are tentatively scheduled to be conducted in February-March 2026. Students are advised to stay updated with official announcements regarding exam centres and schedules.
