UGC NET 2025 Registration Ends Soon: Apply Before November 7

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the UGC NET 2025 registration process for the December session will conclude on November 7, 2025. Candidates aspiring to become assistant professors or qualify for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) should complete their applications before the deadline through the official portal, ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) serves as a gateway for academic and research careers in India. Qualifying candidates become eligible for assistant professor roles or can secure a Junior Research Fellowship for research pursuits in recognized universities.

 

UGC NET 2025 Exam Dates and Mode

According to the official NTA schedule, the UGC NET December 2025 exam will be conducted between December 31, 2025, and January 7, 2026. The test will be held in online (Computer-Based Test) mode across various examination centres nationwide. A total of 85 subjects will be included in this session, covering multiple disciplines under humanities, commerce, and social sciences.

 

UGC NET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To ensure transparency and fairness, the NTA has outlined the following eligibility norms for applicants:

  • Candidates must possess a Master’s degree from a recognized university.
  • General category candidates should have secured at least 55% marks.
  • OBC, SC, ST, and PwD candidates need a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Final-year postgraduate students may also apply, provided they meet the required marks when results are declared.

 

UGC NET 2025 Qualifying Marks

The UGC NET exam comprises two papers — Paper 1 (General Teaching and Research Aptitude) and Paper 2 (Subject-specific). Both papers are mandatory.

  4. Fill in personal and academic details accurately.
  5. Upload documents, photograph, and signature in the required format.
  6. Pay the application fee online and submit the form.
  7. Download and save the confirmation page for future reference
