Samsung has introduced a major education initiative titled DigiArivu in Tamil Nadu, aimed at transforming digital access and STEM-based learning within government schools. The programme is set to benefit more than 3,000 students in districts where technology-enabled education is still developing. The launch took place at the Anna Centenary Library in Chennai, marking a significant step towards inclusive and future-ready learning environments in government institutions.
Ten Schools in Tier-2 Regions to Receive Digital Infrastructure Upgrade
The first rollout of DigiArivu will support ten government schools located in Kancheepuram and Ranipet, two rapidly growing districts where many classrooms continue to lack modern learning tools. Before introducing the list of interventions, here is what Samsung aims to fix: schools in several non-metro regions still rely on traditional teaching and have limited access to STEM equipment, structured digital content, and career-focused guidance. DigiArivu is designed to directly fill these gaps. Under the initiative, Samsung will:
- Install digital learning equipment and tools
- Introduce activity-based STEM modules aligned with curriculum goals
- Upgrade classrooms using Building as Learning Aid design
- Train teachers to integrate tech-based pedagogy
- Establish well-resourced libraries with Tamil and English titles
- Support sports and health-awareness activities
- Host expert lectures to inspire career aspirations
These interventions are expected to boost foundational skills, digital literacy and practical problem-solving among students.
Policy Alignment and Government Backing Strengthen Rollout
The programme has strong administrative support, receiving endorsement from Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and senior education officials. DigiArivu aligns with the state’s efforts to elevate learning outcomes and reduce access gaps between metropolitan and non-metropolitan schools. According to Samsung leadership, the initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting national priorities in digital education.
