The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised the formats for Disability Certificates in accordance with the latest guidelines issued by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD). The update aligns all SSC recruitment processes with new national standards for certifying disabilities.
The Commission confirmed that candidates appearing for exams whose notifications were released after 16 October 2024 may submit Disability Certificates in either the new formats or the older ones, as long as the recruitment cycle is still ongoing. This provides flexibility for candidates who have already obtained earlier certificates.
SSC Disability Certificate 2025: New Forms V and VI Explained
The DEPwD notification dated 16 October 2024 states that Disability Certificates will now be issued under two categories. These categories simplify the earlier system and create uniformity across recruitment bodies.
The revised formats are:
- Form V: Certificate of Disability for Single Disability
- Form VI: Certificate of Disability for Multiple Disabilities
These new forms replace the earlier three formats that included Forms V, VI, and VII. Candidates can check the updated forms in the official SSC notice issued on the Commission’s portal. The Commission has stated that both new and old formats will be accepted for applicable examinations.
The shift aims to streamline documentation, reduce confusion, and bring all central recruitment bodies under a common certification structure. It also ensures that disability assessment remains consistent with updated national guidelines.
SSC GD 2026 Notification Expected Soon
The Commission is expected to release the SSC GD 2026 notification anytime in November 2025. As per early indications, the SSC GD application form 2026 is likely to be made available in November or December 2025.
Based on previous recruitment cycles, the SSC GD Constable exam is expected to be held in January or February 2026. Once released, the notification will provide details on vacancies, eligibility, exam pattern, and application instructions.
