RMS CET 2026 Application Form Released: Registration Begins for Class 6 and 9

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the RMS CET 2026 application process for admission to Classes 6 and 9 at Rashtriya Military Schools. The RMS CET 2026 registration link is now active on the official NTA website, and eligible students can submit their applications online.

The Rashtriya Military School Common Entrance Test (RMS CET) 2026 will be conducted for admission to the 2027-28 academic session. The application window opened on September 23, while the regular registration deadline is October 20, 2026.

RMS CET 2026 Registration: Important Dates

Students and parents planning to apply should keep the complete RMS CET 2026 application dates in mind. The regular application window and fee-payment deadline are different, so candidates should complete both stages within the prescribed timeline.

The RMS CET 2026 exam will be conducted on December 13 in pen-and-paper mode. The examination is for admission to Classes 6 and 9 in Rashtriya Military Schools for the 2027-28 session.

RMS CET 2026 Eligibility for Class 6 and 9

The RMS CET eligibility criteria 2026 differ for Class 6 and Class 9 applicants. Students should check their age and educational eligibility before submitting the application form.

For Class 6 admission, candidates must be between 10 and 13 years of age as on March 31, 2027. They should have been born between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2017, both dates inclusive. For Class 9 admission, candidates should be between 13 and 16 years of age as on March 31, 2027. The applicable date of birth range is April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2014, both dates inclusive.

The five Rashtriya Military Schools are located at Chail, Ajmer, Dholpur, Belgaum and Bengaluru. They are English-medium residential schools administered under the Ministry of Defence.

RMS CET 2026 Application Fee

Candidates also need to pay the prescribed RMS CET application fee 2026 while completing registration. The fee varies according to the candidate's category.

The application fee can be paid online through the designated payment gateway using a credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI.

RMS CET 2026 Exam Pattern and Admission Process

The RMS CET 2026 examination will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode and will contain multiple-choice questions. The written examination is Stage I of the RMS admission process.

NTA is responsible for inviting applications, operating the online application portal, conducting the written examination, processing and evaluating the responses and declaring the Stage-I result. The Rashtriya Military Schools remain responsible for subsequent stages, including medical examination, interview, final merit/selection and admission.
