The expected Re-NEET 2026 cutoff for General, OBC, SC, ST and EWS categories has been released based on exam difficulty, attendance and previous admission trends. Candidates can use the expected qualifying marks and percentile to estimate their eligibility before the official result is announced.

Re-NEET 2026 Cutoff Marks for General, OBC, SC, ST: Expected Range

Medical aspirants awaiting the Re-NEET 2026 Result can now review the expected category-wise qualifying cutoff marks for General, EWS, OBC, SC and ST categories. The official cutoff will be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) along with the Re-NEET 2026 result and scorecards. Until then, expected cutoff ranges provide candidates with an estimate of their qualifying status and admission prospects. The expected cutoff has been prepared by analysing the overall difficulty level of the examination, candidate attendance, previous years' qualifying marks and admission trends. This year's re-examination witnessed a reported attendance of around 87.5%, while many candidates described the paper as comparatively tougher than the previous NEET examination. These factors could influence both the qualifying and admission cutoffs.

Re-NEET 2026 Expected Category-wise Qualifying Cutoff Marks

The qualifying cutoff is the minimum score required to become eligible for counselling. It is different from the admission cutoff, which varies across colleges and courses. The expected qualifying cutoff is given below.

Factors That May Influence the Re-NEET 2026 Cutoff

Several factors are expected to play an important role in determining this year's qualifying marks and admission cutoffs.Key factors include:

  • Overall difficulty level of the examination
  • Total number of candidates appearing for Re-NEET
  • 87.5% attendance reported in the examination
  • Availability of MBBS, BDS and AYUSH seats
  • Previous years' cutoff trends
  • Overall candidate performance

Since the paper was reported to be tougher and attendance was comparatively lower than a full turnout, experts expect the admission cutoff in several colleges to decline compared with previous years.

Difference Between Qualifying Cutoff and Admission Cutoff

Many candidates confuse the qualifying cutoff with the admission cutoff. However, both serve different purposes. The qualifying cutoff is the minimum score required to participate in counselling, whereas the admission cutoff represents the last score or rank at which admission closes in a particular college or course. For example:

  • The qualifying cutoff determines eligibility for counselling.
  • Admission cutoff varies by college, category and counselling round.
  • Government medical colleges generally have much higher admission cutoffs than private institutions.

Expected Government College Admission Trend

Although the qualifying cutoff may remain within the expected percentile ranges, admission to government medical colleges is likely to require substantially higher marks. Experts indicate that the tougher paper and lower top scores compared with previous years could lead to a slight decline in government college admission cutoffs for MBBS, BDS, and BAMS programmes

Previous Year Trends

Previous admission cycles indicate that NEET cutoffs fluctuate depending on competition, paper difficulty, and seat availability. Candidates should use previous trends only as a reference because the official Re-NEET 2026 cutoff will depend entirely on this year's examination data and overall candidate performance.

What Happens After the Re-NEET 2026 Result?

Once the result is declared, NTA will publish the official category-wise qualifying cutoff along with scorecards. Candidates meeting the qualifying marks will become eligible to participate in:

  • All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling
  • State NEET Counselling
  • MBBS Admissions
  • BDS Admissions
  • BAMS, BHMS and other AYUSH admissions
  • Deemed University Counselling
