UCEED Evaluation 2027 uses Part A for shortlisting and Part B for subjective assessment. IIT Bombay will shortlist up to 6,400 candidates based on Part-A criteria, while Part-B requires category-specific minimum marks. Final ranks will be based on combined Part-A and Part-B scores.

UCEED Evaluation 2027: Part A, Part B Cutoff and Criteria

UCEED Evaluation 2027 will be conducted in two stages, with IIT Bombay using Part-A scores to shortlist candidates for evaluation of Part B. The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2027 will carry 300 marks, divided between Part A worth 200 marks and Part B worth 100 marks.

IIT Bombay has specified separate UCEED 2027 evaluation criteria for Part A and Part B. Candidates must qualify both parts to be considered qualified in UCEED 2027 and receive a rank.

UCEED Evaluation 2027: Part A and Part B

The UCEED 2027 exam pattern and marking scheme divide the paper into a computer-based Part A and a subjective Part B. Part A has 57 questions across NAT, MSQ and MCQ sections, while Part B contains two questions on sketching and design aptitude.

Part A carries 200 marks and has a maximum time of two hours. Part B carries 100 marks and has a one-hour duration. Both parts are compulsory for candidates appearing for UCEED 2027.

The UCEED Part A evaluation is based on the prescribed marking scheme for NAT, MSQ and MCQ questions. NAT questions carry 4 marks with no negative marking, MSQs have partial marking with -1 for other incorrect combinations, and MCQs carry 3 marks with a 0.71-mark penalty for an incorrect answer.

UCEED Part A Evaluation and Shortlisting Criteria 2027

The UCEED Part A cutoff 2027 will not be a single predetermined number announced before the examination. IIT Bombay will calculate a measure called δ (delta) using the average marks and standard deviation of marks obtained by all candidates who appear for Part A.

For the OPEN category, the Part-A cutoff measure is δ = μ + σ/2. The applicable category-wise measures are δ for OPEN, 0.9δ for OBC-NCL/EWS and 0.5δ for SC/ST/PwD.

UCEED Part A Cutoff 2027

The UCEED 2027 brochure introduces a specific shortlisting limit for Part B. If the number of candidates meeting the applicable Part-A measure is 6,400 or fewer, that measure will act as the Part-A cutoff.

If more than 6,400 candidates meet the measure, only the top 6,400 candidates based on Part-A marks will be shortlisted. Candidates tied at the 6,400th position will also be shortlisted, meaning the final number may be slightly above 6,400.

Candidates who do not qualify under the UCEED Part A shortlisting criteria will not have their Part-B answer booklet evaluated. This makes Part-A performance important for reaching the second stage of the UCEED evaluation process.

UCEED Part B Cutoff 2027

The UCEED Part B cutoff 2027 is fixed separately for each category. Candidates must meet the applicable Part-B cutoff after being shortlisted through Part A.

A candidate qualifies UCEED 2027 only when the required criteria for both Part A and Part B are satisfied. The Part-B answer booklets of candidates who are not shortlisted through Part A will not be evaluated.

How UCEED 2027 Rank Will Be Calculated?

The UCEED 2027 rank will be based on the total marks obtained in Part A and Part B. Candidates who qualify both parts will be considered qualified and assigned a rank.

The total UCEED score is calculated as Part-A marks + Part-B marks. In case two candidates have the same total marks, the candidate with higher Part-B marks gets the higher rank. If the tie continues, Part-A Section 2 marks and then Section 1 marks are considered.

IIT Bombay will release the UCEED 2027 draft answer key and Part-A responses on January 19, 2027. Candidates can submit comments or objections through the candidate portal until January 21, while the final Part-A answer key is scheduled for January 26, 2027.
