The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli has activated the online registration window for NIMCET 2026, the national-level entrance exam for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programmes across participating Institutes of National Importance. Eligible candidates can now fill and submit the NIMCET application form through the official online portal.

The application process for NIMCET 2026 opened on 03 March 2026. Interested candidates must complete the registration and submission process by 01 May 2026 (5:00 PM) to be eligible for the entrance exam. The computer‑based test for NIMCET is scheduled to be held on 06 June 2026.

NIMCET Eligibility Criteria Overview?
To be eligible for NIMCET 2026, candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree (such as BCA, B.Sc., B.Com.) with at least 60 per cent marks or equivalent grade (55 per cent for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Additionally, applicants must have studied Mathematics or Statistics at graduation level. Final‑year students of qualifying degrees can also apply under the result‑awaited category, provided they meet criteria at the time of admission.

Candidates should follow these general steps to complete the NIMCET 2026 registration:
- Visit the official NIMCET admissions portal at nimcet.admissions.nic.in and start a new registration.
- Use a valid email ID and mobile number to generate login credentials.
- Log in with the received credentials and fill in personal, academic and contact details.
- Choose three preferred exam centre cities in order of priority.
- Upload scanned documents (photograph, signature, ID proof and category certificate if applicable) in prescribed formats.
- Pay the non‑refundable application fee online using debit/credit card, net banking or other available modes.
