The National Testing Agency issued the NIFT 2026 provisional answer key on 17 February 2026 for Stage 1 examinations. The challenge window will close today, 19 February 2026 at 11:50 PM. Candidates who wish to raise objections must complete the process within the prescribed deadline.

 

NIFT 2026 Answer Key for GAT: Important Details and Release Information

The provisional key has been published for the General Ability Test (GAT) conducted for B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, M.F.Tech and MFM programmes. No answer key has been issued for the Creative Ability Test (CAT). Alongside the answer key, NTA has also made available the question paper and individual response sheets to allow candidates to verify recorded responses and calculate tentative scores. NIFT 2026 Objection Window Closing Today: Fee and Process

The objection facility will remain active only till 19 February 2026 at 11:50 PM. After this deadline, no further challenges will be accepted. Candidates must pay INR 200 per question to submit objections. The fee is non-refundable. Subject experts will review all challenges before publishing the final answer key. The NIFT Result 2026 will be prepared based on the revised and finalised key.

 

Steps to Download NIFT 2026 Provisional Answer Key

Candidates can access the provisional answer key by following these steps:

  • Visit the official NIFT examination portal
  • Click on the NIFT 2026 provisional answer key link
  • Enter Application ID and Password or Roll Number and Date of Birth
  • View the answer key and response sheet
  • Download and save the document for reference

 

NIFT 2026 Marking Scheme for Score Calculation

Candidates may estimate their probable scores using the official marking scheme prescribed for GAT. The evaluation pattern is as follows:

  • Each question carries 1 mark
  • 1 mark awarded for every correct answer
  • 0.25 mark deducted for each incorrect response
  • No marks for unanswered questions

If any answer is revised after review, marks will be awarded as per the final answer key. Only those responses that match the updated key will be considered valid. Further updates regarding the NIFT 2026 final answer key, result announcement, cut-off and merit list will be notified through official channels.
