The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet issued the city intimation slip for the NIFT 2026 entrance examination, scheduled for 8 February 2026, triggering anxiety among candidates. The delay is complicating travel and accommodation planning for aspirants, particularly those from distant locations. Candidates are advised to monitor the official NTA portal for updates on the release of the slip. (
Candidates appearing for the NIFT Entrance Examination 2026 are expressing concern as the National Testing Agency (NTA) has yet to release the city intimation slip for the test scheduled on 8 February 2026. The document, which allocates the examination city to aspirants, has not been published on the official portal even with the exam date approaching Traditionally, the city intimation slip is released several days before an examination to enable candidates to plan travel and accommodation arrangements. The absence of this information at this stage is creating uncertainty, especially for those who must travel from other states or distant locations
Delay Impact on Travel and Accommodation
The NIFT city intimation slip provides candidates with their allotted examination city ahead of the release of the detailed admit card. It does not contain the exact exam centre address or reporting time but helps candidates identify the exam city in advance. With fewer than two weeks left before the 8 February 2026 examination, many aspirants have not yet received their city allocation details. This delay is complicating travel planning, including booking train or flight tickets and arranging accommodation near the exam location. Candidates are concerned about heightened travel costs, limited availability of lodging and last-minute logistical issues if information is released too near the exam date.
City Intimation Slip vs Admit Card
It is important to note that the city intimation slip differs from the admit card. While the city slip indicates the exam city, the admit card provides full details including the exact exam centre address, reporting time and other instructions required on the exam day. Candidates typically receive the city intimation slip well before the admit card, which is released closer to the exam date. The lack of early city information is hindering candidates’ logistical preparations
What Candidates Should Do?
Aspirants are advised to regularly check the official NTA NIFT website for any updates regarding the release of the city intimation slip. Keeping login credentials such as application number and password ready will help candidates quickly download the slip once it is published.Until the slip is released, candidates are encouraged to avoid making non-refundable travel bookings and to remain flexible with arrangements to reduce financial risk.
