An Odisha-based candidate appearing for the NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 received relief after her examination centre, initially allotted nearly 1,500 km away in Dehradun, was shifted back to Bhubaneswar.
A candidate from Odisha appearing for the NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 faced uncertainty after discovering that her re-examination centre had been allotted in Dehradun, around 1,500 kilometres away from her home city of Bhubaneswar. However, following representations made by her family, the examination centre was revised before the June 21 examination, providing much-needed relief. The development came just days before the medical entrance re-examination and highlighted concerns regarding last-minute centre allocations. After the correction, the candidate was able to appear for the examination in Bhubaneswar instead of undertaking a long journey to Uttarakhand.
NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Centre Allotment Created Last-Minute Anxiety
The candidate had originally appeared for the main NEET UG examination at a centre in Bhubaneswar. However, after downloading the admit card for the re-examination, the family discovered that the allotted centre had shifted to Dehradun. The unexpected change posed logistical difficulties, considering the short time available before the examination. Long-distance travel immediately before a highly competitive entrance test raised concerns about stress and its impact on performance.
Family Sought Immediate Correction of NEET 2026 Exam Centre
Following the discovery, the candidate's family contacted authorities and submitted requests seeking intervention. They highlighted the difficulties involved in arranging travel at short notice and requested that the centre be restored to Bhubaneswar. The matter gained attention after representations were made to the concerned authorities. Subsequently, officials reviewed the case and acted before the examination date.
NEET Re-Exam 2026 Centre Revised to Bhubaneswar
After considering the request, authorities revised the examination centre and issued a corrected admit card. The candidate was allotted a centre in Bhubaneswar, allowing her to avoid travelling across the country. The revision came within a short period and ensured that the candidate could focus on the examination without additional logistical challenges. The decision brought relief to the family and enabled the candidate to take the examination under familiar circumstances.
