NTA NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund Process Explained
The NTA clarified that candidates will not have to pay any additional fee for appearing in the re-examination. The agency also announced that a separate online module for submitting bank account details for examination fee refunds will be activated by May 21, 2026. Candidates are advised to keep bank account information ready to complete the refund process once the portal becomes active.
NEET UG 2026 Exam City Change Window Open Till May 21
Candidates who have relocated after the cancellation of the original examination can modify their present address and preferred exam city through the official portal. The correction facility will remain available till May 21, 2026, 11:50 PM.
NTA stated that examination centres are allotted based on city preference and seat availability. Therefore, candidates may receive a different examination centre for the re-test compared to the earlier exam. The agency also clarified that centre allotment is done randomly within the selected city choices.
NEET UG 2026 Medium of Examination Cannot Be Changed
The testing agency confirmed that the language medium selected during the original application process will remain final. Candidates will not be allowed to change the medium of examination during the re-exam process.
According to NTA, some city selection issues reported by students are linked to language availability because certain regional language papers are conducted only in specific states and centres mentioned in the official information bulletin.
NTA Clarifies Extra 15 Minutes and Centre Complaints
The NTA explained that the additional 15 minutes included in the total examination duration are reserved for verification, documentation and other pre-exam formalities.
Candidates who experienced issues at examination centres during the May 03, 2026 exam have been advised to submit complaints with supporting documents through the official NTA helpdesk email. The agency further clarified that the June 21, 2026 re-exam date has already been finalised and will not be changed despite concerns regarding clashes with other examinations.
