NEET UG 2026 was conducted on May 03, 2026, in pen-and-paper mode across India and abroad. Over 22.79 lakh candidates appeared at more than 5,400 centres. Special provisions and large-scale arrangements ensured smooth exam conduct.

NEET UG 2026 Conducted for Over 22.79 Lakh Candidates Across 5,400 Centres on May 03, 2026, in a single shift from 2 PM to 5 PM. The National Testing Agency successfully held the exam across India and international locations with extensive arrangements.

 

NEET UG 2026 Exam Timing, Mode and PwD Provisions

The NEET UG 2026 exam was conducted in pen-and-paper mode as per the scheduled timeline. The examination remained uniform across all centres. Candidates were required to follow strict timing guidelines.

  • Exam time: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • Mode: Offline (OMR-based)
  • PwD candidates: Allowed extra time till 6:00 PM

Special provisions were implemented for PwD/PwBD candidates, including compensatory time as per eligibility norms.

 

NEET UG 2026 Centres and Candidate Participation Details

The scale of NEET UG 2026 reflects its position as one of the largest entrance exams globally. A large number of centres and personnel were involved in the process. The exam was conducted with the following arrangements:

  • 22.79 lakh candidates registered and appeared
  • Over 5,432 examination centres
  • Conducted in 551 cities in India
  • Conducted in 14 cities abroad

To manage this large-scale operation, more than 2 lakh personnel were deployed to ensure smooth and fair conduct.

 

NEET UG 2026 Conduct Across Major Cities in India

Candidates across the country participated actively in the NEET UG 2026 exam. Entry at centres was managed under strict supervision and guidelines. Aspirants were seen arriving at centres in multiple cities, including:

  • Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir)
  • Jaipur (Rajasthan)
  • Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu)

The examination process was carried out under tight security and coordination to maintain discipline and transparency.

NEET UG remains the single gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other medical courses in India. With participation in lakhs, competition continues to remain intense. Following the exam, the next stages will include:
