The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the NEET UG 2026 exam city intimation slip on its official website. Registered candidates can now check their allotted exam city in advance of the admit card release.
NEET UG 2026 City Intimation Slip: What It Means for Candidates
The NEET UG 2026 city intimation slip provides advance information about the city where the examination centre will be located. It helps candidates plan travel and accommodation ahead of the exam day. However, candidates must note that this document is not the admit card and cannot be used for entry to the examination hall. The admit card will be released separately closer to the exam date.
NEET UG 2026 Exam Date and Timeline
The NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on 3 May 2026 across various centres in India. The key upcoming events are expected as follows:
- City intimation slip: Released in April 2026
- Admit card release: Expected in the last week of April 2026
- Exam date: 3 May 2026
Candidates are advised to track official updates regularly to avoid missing important announcements.
Steps to Download NEET UG 2026 City Slip
Candidates can download the city intimation slip online using their login credentials. The process is simple and requires basic details.
- Visit the official website: neet.nta.nic.in
- Click on “Advance Intimation of Examination City – NEET UG 2026”
- Enter application number, date of birth, and security pin
- Download and save the slip for reference
The slip will display the allotted exam city but not the exact centre address.
Difference Between NEET City Slip and Admit Card
Many candidates often confuse the city slip with the admit card. Both serve different purposes in the examination process.
- City Intimation Slip: Provides only the exam city
- Admit Card: Contains exact exam centre, date, time, and instructions
- Admit card is mandatory for entry to the exam hall
Candidates must download and carry the admit card on the exam day, as entry without it will not be permitted.
What Candidates Should Do Next?
With the release of the city intimation slip, candidates should begin planning logistics for the exam. They are advised to:
- Verify details mentioned in the slip
- Arrange travel and stay if required
- Continue exam preparation as per schedule
- Regularly check the official website for admit card release notification
The release of the city slip marks an important step ahead of the NEET UG 2026 examination, which is a crucial gateway for undergraduate medical admissions in India.
