NEET Re-Exam 2026 Begins at 2 PM Today: Last-Minute Guidelines, Exam Pattern and Duration

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to conduct the NEET Re-Exam 2026 from 2 PM to 5:15 PM today. Candidates across designated centres are completing final verification procedures before entering examination halls. The examination is being conducted under strict security arrangements with biometric authentication and frisking at all centres.

With only a few minutes left before the examination starts, candidates are advised to remain calm and avoid carrying prohibited items. Entry to examination centres closes at 1:30 PM, and no candidate is permitted to enter after the gates are shut.

Candidates were instructed to report to their allotted centres well before the examination begins. Verification procedures started from 11 AM to facilitate smooth entry into examination halls. Candidates belonging to the PwD category should also keep the required certificates ready.

The examination authority has prescribed a dress code to ensure smooth security checks. Candidates are advised to wear light-coloured clothes with half sleeves and avoid metallic accessories. Electronic devices, calculators, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, books, written material and jewellery are prohibited inside examination centres. Candidates carrying restricted items may not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

Strict arrangements have been made to ensure a fair examination process. Biometric verification, Aadhaar authentication and CCTV surveillance are being used at centres. Invigilators and security personnel have been deployed to maintain discipline and prevent malpractices. Special observers and flying squads are also monitoring examination centres to ensure compliance with NTA guidelines.

NEET Re-Exam 2026 Exam Pattern and Duration

The examination will consist of 180 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology carrying a total of 720 marks. Physics and Chemistry contain 45 questions each, while Biology comprises 90 questions. Candidates will have 3 hours and 15 minutes to complete the paper. Every correct answer carries four marks, while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

After the examination concludes at 5:15 PM, candidates can expect memory-based questions, paper analysis and unofficial answer keys from coaching institutes. The National Testing Agency is expected to release the provisional answer key and response sheets later, followed by the declaration of results and the commencement of MBBS and BDS counselling. With the countdown nearly over, candidates are entering the final phase of preparation before the start of one of the most crucial examinations for medical admissions in the country.
