NBEMS has started the NEET PG 2026 registration process and released the complete examination schedule along with important application guidelines for candidates. The latest notification introduces revised test city allocation rules, Aadhaar-based biometric verification, document requirements, and key dates, including the August 30, 2026 examination and September 30, 2026 result timeline.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially opened the NEET PG 2026 registration window for admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma programmes across India. Along with activating the online application portal, NBEMS has also released the complete examination schedule and issued an important advisory introducing several changes in the registration and examination process, including revised test city allocation rules, Aadhaar-based authentication, and stricter document verification procedures. Eligible candidates can submit the NEET PG 2026 application form online from July 01, 2026 to July 21, 2026 through the official NBEMS portal. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on August 30, 2026, while the result is expected to be announced by September 30, 2026. Candidates are advised to complete the application process well before the deadline and carefully read the latest advisory before submitting the form.

NEET PG 2026 Registration Link and Application Process
The application process is available only in online mode through the official NBEMS websites.NBEMS has clarified that candidates should ensure all information entered in the application form matches their official documents to avoid rejection during verification. Candidates should complete the following steps:
- Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Generate login credentials.
- Fill personal, academic and internship details.
- Upload the prescribed photograph, signature and thumb impression.
- Upload supporting documents.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Verify all information before final submission.
- Download the confirmation page for future reference.
NEET PG 2026 Documents Required for Registration
Applicants should keep all required documents ready before starting the application process. The required documents include:
- Recent passport-size photograph (not older than three months)
- Scanned signature
- Left-hand thumb impression
- Government-issued photo identity proof
- MBBS Degree or Provisional Pass Certificate
- Permanent or Provisional Registration Certificate
- Internship Completion Certificate
- Category Certificate, where applicable
- PwD Certificate, if applicable
- Valid email ID and mobile number
- NMC or State Medical Council registration details
- Payment details for application fee
NEET PG 2026 New Test City Allocation Rules
NBEMS has introduced one of the most significant changes in the examination process by replacing the previous first-come, first-served system for test city allocation.The revised allocation mechanism is intended to ensure fair distribution of examination centres across candidates. Under the revised policy:
- Candidates must select three preferred test states.
- The first preference must be the state mentioned in the application.
- The remaining preferences should be neighbouring states.
- Early submission of the application will not provide any advantage in city allocation.
Aadhaar Authentication and Biometric Verification for NEET PG 2026
NBEMS has also introduced Aadhaar-based authentication as part of the registration and examination process. Failure to comply may delay biometric verification at the examination centre. Candidates should provide accurate Aadhaar details while filling out the application form. During examination-day biometric verification, applicants should avoid applying:
- Henna (Mehendi)
- Ink
- Paint
- Artificial colouring
- Any substance that may interfere with fingerprint verification
Important Instructions Before Submitting the Application Form
NBEMS has issued several guidelines to help candidates avoid mistakes during registration.The authority has also clarified that incorrect or edited images may lead to rejection of the application. Applicants should:
- Verify all personal details before submission.
- Upload only recent photographs.
- Ensure signatures and thumb impressions follow the prescribed specifications.
- Keep the registered mobile number and email ID active.
- Avoid sharing login credentials with unauthorised persons.
- Save the submitted application form and payment receipt.
- Regularly monitor the official website for updates regarding the correction window, admit card and examination instructions.
What Happens After Registration?
Following the closure of the registration window, NBEMS will scrutinise all submitted applications. Eligible candidates will receive the City Intimation Slip on August 11, 2026, followed by the release of the admit card before the examination. The NEET PG 2026 examination will be conducted on August 30, 2026, and the result is scheduled to be declared by September 30, 2026. Qualified candidates will then participate in the counselling process for admission to postgraduate medical courses across India.
