New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the registration window for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2026 today, March 8. Medical aspirants who have not yet applied must complete the application process before the deadline. According to the schedule released by NTA, candidates can submit the online application form until 9 pm, while the application fee payment facility will remain available until 11:50 pm on the same day NEET UG serves as the national-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical programmes including MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other allied health science courses offered by institutions across India.
NEET 2026 Application process and requirements
The NEET application process includes multiple stages such as registration, filling out the online form, uploading required documents, and paying the application fee. Candidates must ensure that all details entered in the form are correct before submitting the application. For NEET 2026, the agency has also introduced a mandatory live photograph capture feature during the application process to verify candidates’ identity. The photograph captured during registration will be matched with official records for authentication. Candidates must also select their preferred examination cities while filling out the form. The final allocation of exam centres will be announced later by the testing agency.
NEET 2026 Correction window from March 10
After the application deadline, NTA will open a correction window allowing registered candidates to edit specific details in their application forms.The correction facility will be available from March 10 to March 12, 2026, enabling candidates to rectify errors in submitted information.

The NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on May 3, 2026, in pen-and-paper mode across various exam centres in India.Candidates are advised to complete the application process well before the deadline to avoid issues such as server congestion, slow internet connectivity, or payment failures during the final hours of registration.
