The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory for candidates appearing in the Re-NEET 2026 examination, detailing biometric verification procedures, dress code guidelines and permissible items inside examination centres.

NEET 2026 Re-Exam Advisory Issued: Dress Code, Biometric Rules, Exam Day Instructions

Re-NEET 2026 Advisory Issued for Biometric Verification, Dress Code and Permissible Items as the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released detailed examination day instructions for candidates scheduled to appear in the re-examination. The advisory includes important information regarding biometric authentication, dress code, permissible items and security procedures to ensure transparency and fairness during the conduct of the medical entrance examination. Candidates are required to comply with all prescribed guidelines and report to examination centres well before the scheduled time. The NTA has also clarified certain concerns related to biometric verification and photo discrepancies to facilitate hassle-free entry into examination centres.

Re-NEET 2026 Biometric Verification Process and Alternative Authentication Guidelines

The Re-NEET 2026 biometric verification process remains one of the most important components of candidate authentication. The NTA has directed candidates to cooperate fully during biometric capture procedures conducted at examination centres. According to the latest advisory, candidates who encounter difficulties during standard biometric authentication will be allowed to undergo an alternative verification mechanism. The move is aimed at ensuring that genuine candidates do not face inconvenience due to technical issues. Additionally, admit cards carrying smaller-sized photographs will remain valid, and candidates will not be denied entry solely because of minor photo-related discrepancies. The authority has emphasised that biometric authentication is mandatory and forms an important part of maintaining the integrity of the examination process. Candidates are advised to:

  • Carry the printed admit card.
  • Keep a valid photo identity proof ready.
  • Follow instructions provided by examination staff.
  • Reach the centre sufficiently early for biometric formalities.
  • Cooperate during frisking and verification procedures.

Re-NEET 2026 Dress Code Guidelines Issued by NTA

The NTA NEET dress code 2026 has been prescribed to facilitate smooth frisking and prevent unfair practices. Candidates have been encouraged to wear simple and comfortable clothing while avoiding heavy accessories and prohibited items. The authority has clarified that candidates requiring full sleeves or woollen clothes due to personal necessity will be permitted, provided they report early for additional security checks. Candidates belonging to communities that require customary attire such as hijab, burqa or turban are also allowed to wear such clothing but are required to arrive well in advance to complete detailed frisking procedures. According to the advisory, candidates are encouraged to wear:

  • Light-coloured clothes
  • Half-sleeve shirts or tops
  • Simple trousers or salwar
  • Slippers or sandals with low heels

Re-NEET 2026 Permissible Items Inside Examination Centres

Before entering the examination hall, candidates should carefully understand which articles are permitted. The NTA has permitted only a limited set of essential items. These items are intended to ensure convenience while maintaining examination security standards. Candidates are allowed to carry:

  • Printed NEET 2026 Admit Card
  • Valid photo identity proof
  • Passport-size photograph as per application form
  • Transparent water bottle
  • Personal hand sanitiser in a transparent bottle
  • Essential medicines and diabetic food items, wherever permitted

Re-NEET 2026 Prohibited Items and Security Restrictions

The NTA has imposed strict restrictions on articles that may compromise examination integrity. Any prohibited item found in possession of a candidate may result in disqualification and further action. The examination authority has warned candidates against carrying unauthorised items and advised them to leave unnecessary belongings at home. Candidates must avoid carrying:

  • Mobile phones
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Smart watches
  • Calculators
  • Earphones
  • Wallets and handbags
  • Notes or study material
  • Electronic gadgets
  • Metallic ornaments and jewellery
  • Belts and caps
  • Writing pads and geometry boxes

Re-NEET 2026 Exam Day Instructions and Reporting Time

The Re-NEET 2026 examination will be conducted under strict security arrangements. Candidates have been instructed to report early to avoid delays caused by verification procedures. Candidates wearing customary dress are advised to reach the centre earlier than usual to allow sufficient time for security check. Important instructions include:

  • Reach the examination centre before reporting time.
  • Carry all mandatory documents.
  • Cooperate during biometric verification and frisking.
  • Follow seating arrangements strictly.
  • Do not leave the examination hall without permission.
  • Maintain discipline throughout the examination.

Why the Re-NEET 2026 Advisory Is Important for Candidates?

The latest advisory has been issued to eliminate confusion and ensure smooth conduct of the examination. Over the years, delays at examination centres due to dress code violations, biometric mismatches and prohibited items have caused inconvenience to candidates. By clarifying the procedures related to biometric verification, dress code, and permissible items, the NTA aims to provide a fair and transparent environment for all aspirants. The alternative biometric verification mechanism also offers relief to candidates who may face technical issues during authentication.

Re-NEET 2026 Candidates Advised to Follow Official Instructions

With the examination approaching, candidates are advised to carefully read the latest instructions available on neet.nta.nic.in and ensure compliance with all guidelines. Candidates should avoid relying on unofficial information and prepare all required documents in advance. Following the prescribed Re-NEET 2026 dress code, understanding the biometric verification process, and carrying only permissible items will help candidates avoid last-minute issues and ensure a smooth examination experience.
