The NEET UG 2026 paper leak controversy has intensified after an aspirant wrote an emotional letter demanding an apology from the National Testing Agency following the announcement of a re-exam. The agency cancelled the original exam after allegations of a large-scale paper leak surfaced.
The National Testing Agency is facing growing criticism after the NEET UG 2026 paper leak controversy led to the cancellation of the examination and announcement of a re-exam. Amid widespread anger among students, an 18-year-old NEET aspirant has written an emotional letter demanding an apology from NTA for the mental stress caused to lakhs of candidates.
According to reports, the aspirant highlighted the months of preparation, emotional pressure, and uncertainty faced by students after the NEET UG 2026 examination was cancelled following allegations of a large-scale paper leak.
NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Scheduled for June 21
The NTA has officially announced that the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on June 21, 2026, after the original May 3 exam was cancelled due to integrity concerns.
The decision was taken after investigations revealed that a “guess paper” circulating before the examination allegedly matched a significant portion of the actual NEET question paper. Reports suggest nearly 135 questions from Biology and Chemistry reportedly overlapped with leaked material.
Emotional Letter from NEET Aspirant Goes Viral
In the letter addressed to NTA, the student reportedly questioned how aspirants were expected to rebuild confidence after months of preparation were disrupted by examination irregularities.
The aspirant urged authorities to at least acknowledge students’ hardships and issue a public apology for the distress caused by the cancellation and uncertainty surrounding the examination process. The issue has triggered widespread debate on social media, with many students expressing frustration over repeated examination controversies and demands for stronger safeguards in national-level entrance exams.
CBI Investigation Underway in NEET Paper Leak Case
The NEET UG 2026 paper leak investigation has now been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation after initial findings pointed to a possible multi-state examination racket. Investigators suspect the leaked material was circulated through WhatsApp and Telegram groups weeks before the examination. Several arrests have already been made in connection with the case. According to media reports, coaching networks and middlemen allegedly sold leaked “VIP question sets” to candidates for large sums of money.
Political Reactions Grow Over NEET 2026 Leak
The controversy has also sparked strong political reactions. Opposition leaders have criticised the handling of the examination process and questioned the functioning of the NTA. Meanwhile, student groups and education experts have called for stricter security systems, better digital monitoring, and reforms in national examination management to restore trust among aspirants.
NEET Aspirants Await Further Clarity
With over 22 lakh students affected nationwide, the NEET UG 2026 controversy has once again raised concerns regarding transparency and exam security in India’s competitive entrance examination system. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NTA NEET Website for the latest updates regarding the re-exam schedule, admit cards, and official notices.
