What Should You Do After Getting Shortlisted?

Being included in the first merit list does not mean that your appointment is final. You must complete document verification and meet the requirements stated in the official recruitment notice.

According to the Maharashtra Circle List 1 notice, shortlisted applicants must complete document verification on or before October 27, 2026. Check the divisional office mentioned against your name and follow the instructions provided in the PDF.

Keep these documents ready:

• Original Class 10 marksheet and passing certificate
• Valid identity proof, such as Aadhaar card or PAN card
• Caste or category certificate, if applicable
• Other certificates required under the recruitment rules
• Two sets of photocopies of all relevant documents

Check the official notice for the complete document list applicable to your post and category. Carry the original documents as instructed.

How Is the India Post GDS Merit List Prepared?

India Post prepares the GDS merit list based on Class 10 marks. There is no written examination or interview in the standard GDS selection process.

Your marks are used to prepare the merit list according to the applicable recruitment rules. The result PDF displays details such as the division, post name, category, registration number and percentage of marks.

Keep in mind that meeting the minimum educational qualification does not guarantee selection. Shortlisting depends on merit, available vacancies and the rules applicable to the recruitment cycle.

What If Your Name Is Missing From the First Merit List?

Do not assume that you are out of the recruitment process just because your name is missing from List 1. India Post may publish supplementary merit lists to fill vacancies that remain unfilled, subject to the recruitment rules and official announcements.

You should:

• Recheck your registration number and postal circle.
• Confirm that you are viewing the July 2026 Schedule-II list.
• Monitor the official GDS portal for further merit lists.
• Keep your documents ready in case your name appears in a later list.

No supplementary list date should be treated as confirmed until India Post announces it officially.
