MAHA TET 2025: Over 4.75 Lakh Candidates To Sit Across 1,423 Centres

The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) has confirmed that the MAHA TET 2025 will be held on 23 November 2025 across 1,423 examination centres in 37 district headquarters of the state. Altogether 4,75,669 candidates have registered for the two-paper test, marking a record participation in the teacher-eligibility exam. The MSCE has emphasised strict identification and surveillance protocols to ensure examination integrity, citing growing competition and the importance of the certification for teaching eligibility across Maharashtra’s schools.

Ahead of the exam day, here are the key statistics for the MAHA TET 2025 registration and centre logistics. These figures illustrate the scale of the exercise and the distribution of candidates across the two papers.

Enhanced Security & Examination Protocols for MAHA TET

In response to rising concerns over impersonation and malpractice, the MSCE has implemented multiple enhanced security mechanisms. These include biometric verification, facial-recognition systems, metal-detector screening at entry points, and AI-monitored CCTV coverage at each centre. Candidates have been directed to carry valid photo-ID along with admit cards, and electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches or calculators are strictly prohibited inside exam halls. The council has also urged examinees not to rely on social-media rumours and to follow official updates only.

What Candidates Should Do Now?

With the exam just days away, candidates are advised to:

  • Verify their allotted centre and shift well in advance;
  • Download and print their admit card and cross-check details;
  • Reach the centre well before the reporting time to complete identity checks;
  • Avoid bringing any forbidden electronic items; and
  • Stay calm and well-rested — a clear mind helps handle the nerve-wracking day.

The MAHA TET certificate is required to apply for teacher appointments in schools in Maharashtra, making this exam a crucial milestone for aspiring educators. Given the high number of registrations and the increased emphasis on fairness and transparency, this year’s test is a defining moment.
