KSEAB Mandates Live Streaming for II PU Practical Exams

KSEAB mandates live streaming for II PU practical exams after reviewing examination results from previous years. The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board found several discrepancies in marks awarded during practical assessments.

The board observed cases where students scored unusually high marks in practical exams while failing the related theory papers. Officials stated that such patterns raised serious concerns about evaluation practices at some centres.

KSEAB Guidelines to Monitor II PU Practical Exams

Following the review, KSEAB decided to strengthen monitoring mechanisms for practical examinations. The new guidelines aim to ensure transparency, fairness, and uniform evaluation across all affiliated colleges.

Under the revised instructions, colleges must arrange live streaming of II PU practical exams. This will allow the board to monitor examinations in real time. The recorded footage may also be reviewed later if any irregularity is reported or suspected.

KSEAB has made it clear that strict compliance is mandatory. Institutions that fail to follow the guidelines may face disciplinary action as per board rules. Officials stated that accountability at the institutional level is necessary to maintain the credibility of the examination system.

Reason Behind Live Streaming of PU Practical Exams

The decision was taken after an internal analysis of past examination data. The board identified multiple instances where the gap between practical and theory marks was unusually wide. According to officials, consistent patterns of high practical scores combined with poor theory performance cannot be ignored. Such trends suggest possible lapses in evaluation standards rather than genuine student performance. The live streaming requirement is expected to act as a deterrent against unfair practices.

The board believes that real-time monitoring will help ensure that practical exams are conducted strictly as per prescribed norms. It will also help in maintaining uniformity in assessment procedures across colleges.

Preparations for II PU Practical Exams 2026

The II PU practical exams are scheduled to be conducted in the coming weeks. In view of this, KSEAB has instructed colleges to complete all technical preparations well in advance.

Institutions have been asked to ensure proper internet connectivity, functional cameras, and uninterrupted power supply on exam days. Colleges must also designate responsible staff members to manage the live streaming process smoothly.

KSEAB has advised principals and exam coordinators to verify all arrangements before the commencement of the exams. Any technical failure during the practical exam may be treated as non-compliance if found to be due to negligence.

Impact on Colleges and Students

The new monitoring system is expected to bring greater discipline to the conduct of practical exams. While colleges may need to invest additional effort in technical arrangements, the board believes the step will benefit students in the long run.

Officials stated that genuine candidates will gain from a more transparent evaluation system. The board reiterated that the objective is not to penalise institutions, but to restore confidence in the assessment process. KSEAB is expected to issue further instructions if required. Colleges and students have been advised to stay alert for official updates related to the II PU practical examinations.
