JKBOSE has reduced the Class 10, 11, and 12 syllabus 2026 by 15% for the Summer Zone of Jammu division. The decision was taken due to academic disruptions caused by adverse weather and difficult conditions last year. Board exams will begin from 17 February 2026.
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced a 15% reduction in the syllabus for Class 10, 11, and 12 for the Summer Zone of Jammu division. The board introduced this change to support students affected by academic disruptions during the previous year. JKBOSE stated that prolonged spells of inclement weather and a war-like situation had impacted the timely completion of the syllabus, leading to the decision.

The board explained that the syllabus reduction was necessary due to multiple challenges faced last year. These included severe weather conditions, flood-like situations, and other prevailing circumstances that interrupted regular academic activities. The reduction aims to ensure that students from the Summer Zone do not face any disadvantage in the upcoming board examinations. This move is expected to help students focus on essential topics and complete preparation within the limited available time.
