JKBOSE Class 12 Exams 2026 Begin, Schedule, Admit Card & Guidelines

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has begun the Class 12 board examinations for 2026 in the Summer Zone. Exams run until 28 March 2026, with students required to carry admit cards and follow strict guidelines in centres across the division.
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has commenced the Class 12 board examinations for the 2026 session in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division. The annual examinations started on 23 February 2026 with the General English paper for all streams — Science, Commerce, Arts and Home Science. These exams are being conducted in scheduled order across multiple subjects and are expected to continue through 28 March 2026, following the board-issued datesheet and guidelines.
Exam Schedule and Key Dates
The JKBOSE 12th board timetable for this year sets out the sequence of subject examinations. Students must plan their attendance according to the official schedule released earlier this year
- Exam start date: 23 February 2026
- Exam end date: 28 March 2026
- Session: Morning, beginning typically at 10 AM
- Streams: Science, Commerce, Arts, Home Science
Subjects following General English in the initial weeks include Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, and others as per stream-wise grouping in the published datesheet.
Admit Card and Verification
Students appearing in JKBOSE Class 12 board exams are required to carry their admit cards along with valid school identity cards to exam centres for entry verification. Admit cards were distributed to schools and candidates ahead of the examinations. Strict adherence to reporting times and documentation is mandatory. Students without their JKBOSE admit cards may be denied entry to the examination hall.
Minimum Passing Criteria
To qualify in each subject, students must secure the minimum passing marks as prescribed by the board. For the general English paper, a minimum of 33 marks is required to pass, while elective and major subjects demand at least 36 per cent overall. These criteria apply across all streams and include contributions from theory, internal assessments, and practicals where applicable.
Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates must adhere to examination rules set by JKBOSE, including:
- Arrive at the centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start.
- Carry only permitted stationery; electronic devices such as phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth devices are not allowed.
- Use of unfair means may lead to immediate disqualification.
- Writing on admit cards or external materials is prohibited.
