JEE Main 2027 Exam Centre Selection: Know How to Choose 4 Preferred Cities Here

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application process, allowing engineering aspirants to select their preferred examination cities while filling out the online application form. Candidates can choose up to four preferred cities, subject to the options and eligibility conditions displayed in the application portal.

Candidates should select their preferences carefully, considering their current or permanent address and travel convenience. The examination city selected during registration is a preference, not a guarantee of the final allotment. NTA will communicate the allotted JEE MAIN examination Center and the exact examination centre through the relevant candidate information and admit card.

How to Select JEE Main 2027 Exam Centre Preferences?

Candidates must select their preferred examination cities while completing the JEE Main 2027 application form. The available choices depend on the options displayed in the official application portal and the applicable address-related rules.

Candidates are advised to follow these steps to select your preferred exam cities:

1. Visit the official JEE Main website.
2. Open the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application link.
3. Register or log in to the application portal.
4. Fill in the required personal, academic and address details.
5. Navigate to the examination city preference section.
6. Review the available cities and select up to four preferences, as permitted by the portal.
7. Arrange the cities in your preferred order.
8. Review the selected cities along with the remaining application details.
9. Submit the application form and complete the required fee payment.
10. Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates should ensure that the selected cities are available in the application form and comply with NTA's instructions. They should not assume that an unavailable city can be added manually.

JEE Main 2027 Exam City Selection Rules

While filling out the application form, candidates should understand how the city preference system works. Selecting a preferred city does not mean that NTA will necessarily allot that city or a particular examination centre.

Candidates should keep the following points in mind:

• Select preferences carefully: Choose cities that are convenient to reach and arrange them in order of preference.
• Follow address-related conditions: The available city options may depend on the candidate's permanent or present address and the rules specified by NTA.
• Check the official list: Select only the cities displayed in the application portal.
• Understand the allotment process: NTA makes the final allotment according to its examination arrangements and applicable rules.
• Check the admit card: The exact examination centre, address, date and shift should be checked on the admit card when released.

Candidates should read the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin before submitting the form to understand the official rules governing examination city selection.
