JEE Apex Board is formed by the Minister of Education for JEE Main and Advanced 2026 and 2027. The board is formed to ensure the smooth conduct of the JEE Main and Advanced of 2026 and 2027. The decision on the formation of the new JEE Apex Board was finalised after the gathering of the IIT Council.
Members of the JEE Apex Board
The newly constituted JEE Apex Formed will consist of several members for its smooth functioning:
- The chairperson of the JEE Apex Board will be Professor S.K. Jain, and the Honorary Chairperson will be the Former Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University.
- The rest of the members of the JEE Apex Board are as follows:
- The Director of the National Test Agency will work as Member Secretary.
- Directors of IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, IIIT Hyderabad, IIT Una, IIITDM Kanchipuram, IIEST Shibpur, and NIT Rourkela.
- Chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education
- Directors General of the NIC and C-DAC.
- Senior Officials from the Ministry of Education.
- Representative from the Vellore Institute of Technology.
- Representative from the State Governments of Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Odisha.
Duties Assigned to JEE Apex Board
Here is a list of duties and responsibilities that are assigned to the JEE Apex Board Members:
- The National Test Agency will play the role of Permanent Secretariat, which will handle Finance, Administration, RTI Cases, and Coordination. Along with this, NTA will manage IT Systems, Online Application, Logistics, and Exam Conduct with the help of NIC and C-DAC.
- NTA, IITs, and the Indian Statistical Institute will work as a supporting group for the JEE Apex Board.
- The JAB IIT will continue to look over the JEE Advanced.
