Curriculum Focus and Academic Structure
The Bachelor’s Programme in Digital Science and Business Management integrates emerging technologies with core business disciplines. Key technology-focused areas include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Internet of Things, and Robotics, while management components cover Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Manufacturing. The curriculum has been structured to ensure a balance between theoretical understanding and applied learning. Emphasis has been placed on analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making in digitally enabled business contexts.
Industry Collaboration and Experiential Learning
IIM Mumbai stated that the programme has been conceptualised in collaboration with leading knowledge partners, including C4i4, along with several industry stakeholders. These partnerships are expected to strengthen the programme’s practical orientation. In addition, IIM Mumbai is working with Accenture Strategy to integrate internship-based learning and real-world industry exposure into the academic framework. This approach is intended to help students gain hands-on experience in addressing contemporary digital business challenges while pursuing the degree.
NEP Alignment and Global Exposure
Designed in accordance with the National Education Policy, the four-year undergraduate programme allows students the flexibility to enter and exit at different stages, in line with NEP guidelines. This structure supports diverse academic and career pathways for students. Discussions are also underway with IMT France to explore potential international collaboration. Such partnerships may provide students with opportunities for global exposure, academic enrichment, and cross-cultural learning experiences.
IIM Mumbai Extension Campus in Pune
To support the rollout of the undergraduate programme, IIM Mumbai has received approval to establish an extension campus in Pune. The approval was granted by the Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Minister of State for Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol. The Pune facility will function as an extension of IIM Mumbai and will be used to conduct academic activities related to the undergraduate programme. This development is expected to enhance infrastructure support and academic delivery for the new course. With the launch of this programme, IIM Mumbai expands its academic portfolio into undergraduate education, reflecting a growing focus on interdisciplinary learning and industry-oriented skill development in India’s management education landscape.
