IGNOU has extended the January 2026 admission deadline for online programmes till 15 March 2026. The extension does not apply to certificate or semester-based courses. The university has also extended the entrance test registration for BEd and BSc Nursing (Post Basic) programmes.
IGNOU Jan 2026 Admission Extended Till 15 March for candidates applying to online programmes. Indira Gandhi National Open University has revised the deadline for the January 2026 session. Applicants can now complete the registration process until 15 March 2026. Earlier, the last date to apply for ODL programmes was 28 February 2026. The extension is applicable only to online programmes and does not cover certificate or semester-based courses.
IGNOU Jan 2026 ODL Registration and Important Dates
The university has provided additional time for eligible candidates to submit their application forms. Applicants must complete the process through the official website ignou.ac.in. The revised timeline is as follows:
- Last date for online programme registration: 15 March 2026
- Previous deadline: 28 February 2026
Candidates are advised to verify programme-specific eligibility before submitting the form.
IGNOU Entrance Test Registration for BEd and BSc Nursing 2026
IGNOU has also extended the registration deadline for the entrance examination conducted for select programmes. The entrance test applies to:
- BEd programme
- BSc Nursing (Post Basic) programme
Candidates seeking admission to these courses for the January 2026 session must complete the entrance registration within the revised schedule announced by the university.

- Pay the applicable programme fee
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page
