The Indira Gandhi National Open University has extended the registration deadline for the January 2026 session. The last date to apply for online programmes has been revised from 28 February 2026 to 15 March 2026. The extension applies only to online programmes. Certificate and semester-based programmes are not covered under this revised schedule.
IGNOU January 2026 Admission: Online Programmes Offered
IGNOU is offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across disciplines for the January 2026 session. Candidates are advised to complete their applications well before 15 March 2026 to avoid technical issues.
At the undergraduate level, programmes include:

- BSc
- BSW
- Honours and specialised streams
Postgraduate programmes include:
- MBA
- MA in various specialisations
- MCA
- MCom
In addition, IGNOU offers diploma and advanced certificate courses aimed at career progression and skill enhancement. Certificate and diploma programmes are also available in areas such as language studies, IT skills, environmental studies, and management. IGNOU BEd and BSc Nursing Entrance 2026 Application Deadline
IGNOU has also extended the deadline for submission of online application forms for specific entrance-based programmes. The extension covers:
- BEd (January 2026 session)
- BSc Nursing (Post Basic) January 2026 session
- Post Graduate Diploma in Rural and Plantation Management (PGDRPC) July 2026 session
As per the notification issued by the Student Evaluation Division (Exam-II) on 27 February 2026, the revised deadline to apply is 10 March 2026, up to 6 pm. The entrance test for all three programmes will be conducted on 29 March 2026. Candidates seeking admission to these courses must ensure timely submission of application forms before the prescribed deadlines.
