The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has announced a complete restructuring of the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test, marking one of the most significant updates to the examination in recent years. These reforms will take effect from the June 2026 session and are expected to streamline the assessment system for aspiring Company Secretaries. The January 2026 session will be the final CSEET attempt conducted in remote-proctored mode. Beginning June 2026, all CSEET sessions will be held offline at designated centres, requiring candidates to report physically for the examination. This transition reflects the institute’s effort to strengthen standardisation and ensure uniform exam conditions across regions. ICSI has also revised the examination frequency. From 2026 onward, CSEET will take place three times a year — February, June, and October. Earlier, the test was conducted four times annually. This structural change aligns the exam calendar more effectively with the professional programme timelines.
ICSI CSEET 2026 Registration and Fee Structure Updates
The registration window for the June 2026 session will begin on December sixteen, twenty twenty-five and close on February fifteen, twenty twenty-six. Candidates must complete a separate enrollment process before each exam cycle. ICSI has revised the fee structure, with the CSEET registration fee set at INR seven thousand five hundred, while the enrollment fee per session is INR one thousand five hundred. Registration will remain valid for three years, allowing candidates more flexibility in choosing their attempt. ICSI has also released a detailed schedule outlining registration windows, enrollment timelines, and tentative exam cycles for the upcoming sessions. These timelines help candidates plan their preparation and enrollment well in advance. The tables below present the officially revised dates provided by the institute.

Updated CSEET Exam Cycle
The institute has also confirmed the new annual exam cycle, which assigns fixed periods for each session and ensures predictable result timelines. This will help students prepare for higher-level CS exams without overlapping schedules.
ICSI has stated that each subject will now carry one hundred marks, with three papers conducted in descriptive mode and one in OMR format. The revised syllabus will be released separately, outlining the updated subject structure and competency expectations for candidates.
