Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology has confirmed the undergraduate admission test date for the 2025–26 academic year, with the exam scheduled for January twenty-three. For the first time, the test will be conducted at two centres, RUET and BUET, using the same question paper. The decision was finalised during the one hundred fifty-fourth emergency Academic Council meeting, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr SM Abdur Razzak.
RUET–BUET Joint Centre Decision for Admission 2025
The university has introduced an additional centre at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) to ease travel and reduce crowding for applicants. The upcoming exam will follow the MCQ format, and the institution expects around nineteen thousand candidates to compete for more than one thousand two hundred seats across various undergraduate programmes. Officials noted that the move aims to improve accessibility while maintaining strict administrative and academic standards across both centres.
Eligibility Criteria for RUET Admission 2025–26
Before listing the eligibility requirements, it is important to understand that RUET follows a uniform evaluation framework for all applicants, including those from national boards and international curricula. The criteria focus on consistent academic performance in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, which are essential for engineering studies.
Minimum Academic Requirements
- SSC or equivalent: Candidates must have passed in two thousand twenty-two or two thousand twenty-three with at least GPA four point zero zero.
- HSC or equivalent: Applicants must have passed in two thousand twenty-five with GPA five point zero zero and a minimum total GP-fourteen in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
- GCE O/A Level:
- Minimum grade B in at least five subjects at O Level.
- Minimum grade B in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at A Level.
- A Level certificate must be obtained in November two thousand twenty-four or later.
These conditions ensure that applicants possess the foundational knowledge needed for engineering programmes.
Committee Oversight for Final Decisions
Officials added that any revisions or updates related to the admission exam will be determined by the Steering Committee formed for the admission process. The committee is authorised to approve changes in scheduling, seat distribution, or exam procedure if necessary.
