ICAR-IARI Vacancy 2026

The recruitment is being conducted for two positions under a Department of Biotechnology (DBT)-funded project. The project focuses on developing an integrated biomanufacturing platform for methane reduction and drought resilience in rice-wheat cropping systems.

Candidates must meet the educational qualification and experience requirements prescribed for their respective posts.

Research Associate-III

• PhD in Microbiology, Biotechnology or Life Sciences with at least 60% marks.
• Alternatively, candidates with a Master's degree may apply if they have the prescribed research, teaching or design experience.
• At least one SCI-indexed research paper is required under the alternative qualification route.
• Minimum three years of post-qualification R&D experience is required.
• Maximum age limit is 40 years.

Senior Research Fellow

• Master's degree in Microbiology, Life Sciences or Biotechnology with at least 60% marks.
• Candidates require NET, GATE or an equivalent qualification along with the prescribed research experience.
• Candidates holding a doctoral degree may also be eligible as per the notification.
• Maximum age limit is 35 years.

Age relaxation will be applicable to eligible reserved categories and other categories as per Government of India rules.

ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process will be based on screening of applications followed by an interview.

Candidates will first be evaluated based on their essential and desirable qualifications. Applications will then be shortlisted, reportedly in a 1:10 ratio. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an in-person interview.

The shortlisted candidates are expected to be informed by September 14, 2026. Candidates must bring their original documents for verification during the interview.
