The GATE 2027 regular registration deadline is September 27, 2026, while candidates who miss the regular deadline can submit applications with a late fee until October 5, 2026.

IIT Madras has clarified that candidates do not need to upload their 10th, 12th, undergraduate or postgraduate marksheets to the GATE 2027 DigiLocker folder for registration.

For General, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates, no document is required to be uploaded to the GATE2027 DigiLocker folder. SC/ST candidates need to upload the applicable category certificate, while PwD candidates have additional document requirements specified by GATE 2027.

Candidates should also ensure that the selected photo ID contains accurate details, particularly the name and date of birth.

Candidates can complete the GATE 2027 application form online through the official application portal. Those using DigiLocker should carefully select their account and identity document during the process.

4. Log in and begin the application form.
5. Connect the DigiLocker account as instructed.

GATE 2027 Application Through Unverified DigiLocker: What Happens After Submission?

GATE 2027 Exam Date: When Will the Examination Be Held?

The GATE 2027 exam will be conducted on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027. The city allotment notification is scheduled for January 4, 2027, while the GATE 2027 result is scheduled to be announced on March 19, 2027.

IIT Madras has also introduced Robotics and Automation (RA) as a new GATE test paper for 2027. The official website also notes revisions to several syllabi and updates to two-paper combinations.
