The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has started the GATE 2027 registration process today, August 27, 2026. Candidates who wish to appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 can now fill out the GATE 2027 application form through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).The official GATE 2027 website confirms that GOAPS has gone live for registration.

The GATE 2027 registration last date without a late fee is September 27, 2026, while candidates will be able to submit applications with a late fee until October 5, 2026. IIT Madras is organising GATE 2027, and the examination will be conducted on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027.

Candidates should complete the GATE application form 2027 carefully and upload the required documents in the prescribed format. For Indian candidates, registration through DigiLocker is mandatory, according to the official GATE website.

GATE 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are currently studying in the third year or higher of an undergraduate degree programme, or those who have already completed a government-approved degree programme, can apply.

However, there is no age limit and no restriction on the number of GATE attempts. Candidates from relevant engineering, technology, science, architecture, commerce, arts and other recognised degree backgrounds can apply, depending on the eligibility requirements for the selected GATE paper.

GATE 2027 Application Fee
