France Expands Classes Internationales to 7 Countries; 2026 Open

France has expanded its Classes Internationales initiative to seven countries across the Indo-Pacific and Africa, including India, Vietnam, China, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Indonesia. The move reflects France’s focus on strengthening academic cooperation and student mobility with partner nations.

Applications for the 2026 intake are now open and can be submitted through the official Classes Internationales portal or via Campus France offices. In India, the programme is jointly coordinated by Campus France and the French Institute in India.

Classes Internationales offers a structured, year-long academic pathway in France. The programme combines intensive French language training, cultural orientation, and foundational academic preparation to help students transition into French-taught bachelor’s programmes.

More than 30 French institutions are participating, providing access to over 200 undergraduate programmes across disciplines such as engineering, sciences, arts, design, management, and social sciences. Some institutions also offer apprenticeship-linked courses and industry-oriented academic modules.

The initiative is open to students with varying levels of French proficiency. Learners needing language preparation are supported through the Alliance Française network to reach the required level before departure, ensuring academic readiness for university study in France.
