DRDO SSPL JRF & RA Recruitment 2026: 23 Vacancies

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has invited eligible candidates for walk-in interviews for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Research Associate (RA) positions at the Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), Delhi.

The recruitment includes 16 JRF vacancies and 7 RA vacancies in Physics and Electronics. The walk-in interviews are being conducted at the SSPL complex in Timarpur, Delhi. The Electronics interviews are scheduled for September 8 and September 9, 2026.

DRDO SSPL JRF & RA Interview Dates

Candidates must report at 9:30 AM at the SJB Auditorium, SSPL Complex, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi-110054.

Candidates appearing for the Electronics interviews should note that the interviews are scheduled for September 8 and 9, 2026.

DRDO SSPL JRF Eligibility Criteria

For the JRF position, candidates should have an M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Physics/Electronics with First Division and NET qualification. Candidates with a B.E./B.Tech in Engineering Physics/Electronics with First Division and NET/GATE qualification can also apply.

Candidates with an M.E./M.Tech degree with First Division at both graduate and postgraduate levels are also eligible. The maximum age limit for JRF is 28 years.

DRDO SSPL RA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Research Associate position should have a PhD or equivalent degree in Physics/Electronics. Candidates with an M.E./M.Tech and three years of research experience in semiconductor materials, device fabrication and characterisation, along with at least one research paper in an SCI-indexed journal, are also eligible.

The maximum age limit for RA is 35 years. Age relaxation for SC, ST and OBC candidates will be provided as per government rules.

DRDO SSPL JRF & RA Fellowship

Selected candidates will receive a fellowship of INR 37,000 per month for JRF and INR 67,000 per month for RA. The positions are purely temporary and do not provide any right to regular appointment in DRDO.

• Other relevant documents
• Recent passport-size photograph
• No Objection Certificate (NOC), if employed with a government organisation, PSU or autonomous body

Candidates should affix the photograph at the specified place on the application form.
