Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed preparations for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination and directed officials to ensure a secure and transparent process. The minister instructed authorities to strengthen monitoring, security, and student arrangements ahead of the June 21 examination.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on May 19, 2026, reviewed preparations for the upcoming NEET UG 2026 re-examination and instructed officials to ensure the exam is conducted in a “secure, seamless and foolproof manner.” The re-exam is scheduled to be held on June 21, 2026 across the country.
During the review meeting, the minister directed authorities to eliminate all shortcomings identified in the earlier examination process to maintain complete transparency and integrity in the conduct of the medical entrance examination.
NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Security Measures Reviewed by Education Ministry
The Education Ministry has asked officials to implement stringent security protocols at examination centres following allegations of irregularities in the earlier NEET UG examination conducted on May 03, 2026. Before the re-exam, the ministry has instructed district administrations and police authorities to strengthen coordination and monitoring arrangements.

NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Scheduled After Cancellation of May Exam
The National Testing Agency had cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 03, 2026 following allegations related to irregularities and paper leak concerns.
The government later announced that the re-examination would be conducted on June 21, 2026. The Education Minister also confirmed earlier that NEET UG is expected to shift to a computer-based examination format from 2027 to improve transparency and reduce malpractice risks.
