The CUET PG 2026 examination starts today, from 6 March 2026 and will continue until 27 March 2026 in computer-based mode. The exam is conducted in three daily shifts for admission to PG programmes offered by more than 90 universities across India.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate programmes from 6 March 2026 to 27 March 2026 in computer-based mode. More than 4 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the entrance examination this year. The CUET PG exam is conducted for admission to postgraduate courses offered by central, state and participating universities across India.

 

CUET PG 2026 Exam Schedule and Subjects for 6 March

The CUET PG exam is conducted in three shifts each day, with each shift lasting 90 minutes. On the first day, different postgraduate subjects are scheduled across the shifts. Candidates can check the subject schedule for 6 March 2026 below.

The exam consists of multiple-choice questions and is conducted for 157 postgraduate subjects.

 

CUET PG 2026 Shift Timings

The CUET PG examination is conducted in three shifts every day. Candidates must verify their exact exam shift on the admit card. The shift timings are listed below.

Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre well before the reporting time to complete security and verification procedures.

 

CUET PG 2026 Reporting Time and Gate Closing Schedule

NTA has specified separate reporting and gate closing times for each shift to maintain smooth exam operations. Candidates can check the schedule below.

Candidates arriving after the gate closing time will not be allowed to enter the examination centre.

 

CUET PG 2026 Documents Required on Exam Day

Candidates must carry the required documents to the examination centre for verification. The mandatory documents include:

  • Printed CUET PG 2026 admit card
  • Valid photo ID proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card or passport
  • Passport-size photograph
  • PwD certificate (if applicable)

Candidates without these documents will not be permitted to appear for the examination.

 

CUET PG 2026 Dress Code Guidelines

NTA has issued specific dress code instructions for candidates to ensure smooth security checks at exam centres.

 

Male candidates should follow these guidelines:

  • Wear simple and comfortable clothes
  • Avoid caps or mufflers (Sikh candidates may wear a turban)
  • Avoid metallic accessories, jewellery or belts
  • Prefer chappals or sandals instead of closed footwear

Female candidates should follow these instructions:

  • Wear simple clothing such as kurtas, tops or trousers
  • Avoid metal jewellery, rings, bracelets or heavy earrings
  • Keep hairstyles simple without large accessories
  • Avoid clothing with metallic buttons

If any candidate requires religious attire, prior approval from authorities is necessary.

 

CUET PG 2026 Items Not Allowed Inside Exam Hall

NTA has prohibited several items inside the examination centre to prevent unfair practices. The restricted items include:

  • Mobile phones
  • Smart watches or digital watches
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Calculators
  • Books or notes
  • Electronic gadgets

All exam centres are monitored through CCTV surveillance, and candidates found violating rules may face disqualification from the examination.

 

CUET PG scores will be used for admission to postgraduate programmes offered by more than 90 universities, including University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Banaras Hindu University. The detailed exam analysis and expected cutoff will be released after each shift based on student feedback and expert reviews.
