CTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility requirements differ for Paper I (Primary Stage) and Paper II (Upper Primary Stage). Candidates must meet the minimum educational qualifications as per the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) norms.

 

For Paper I (Classes I–V):

  • Passed Class 12 with at least 50% marks.
  • Completed or pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

For Paper II (Classes VI–VIII):

  • Graduated with at least 50% marks.
  • Completed or pursuing a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree.

The minimum age limit is 18 years, with no upper age restriction.

 

CTET February 2026 Application Fee

Candidates will be required to pay the examination fee online via debit card, credit card, or net banking. The category-wise fee structure is expected to remain similar to the previous session.
