CBSE Launches Free Counselling for Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2026

CBSE launches free counselling for Class 10, 12 board exams 2026 as the Central Board of Secondary Education has started its annual psycho-social support services from 6 January 2026. The initiative is aimed at helping students manage examination stress and emotional pressure ahead of the board examinations. The counselling services will remain active until 1 June 2026, covering the entire examination cycle. The support programme is part of CBSE’s long-standing efforts to ensure students approach examinations with emotional balance and confidence, as the CBSE theory exams 2026 will begin from 17 February 2026.

 

CBSE Psycho-Social Counselling Services 2026: Duration and Purpose

The CBSE psycho-social counselling initiative is designed to address stress, anxiety and emotional challenges commonly faced by students during board exams. The services are available not only for students but also for parents, who often play a key role during the preparation phase. This structured support system focuses on emotional well-being, time management, exam preparedness and coping strategies. CBSE has stated that psycho-social support has been an integral part of its examination framework for several years, ensuring that academic performance is supported by mental stability.

 

24×7 CBSE Helpline and Tele-Counselling Support Details

To ensure easy access to guidance, CBSE has introduced multiple modes of counselling support. These services are intended to reach students across different regions without barriers. The helpline and tele-counselling structure includes the following facilities:

  • 24×7 Toll-Free IVRS Helpline: Students can dial 1800-11-8004 to access round-the-clock support. The Interactive Voice Response System provides guidance on stress management, exam preparation, time planning and general queries.
  • Language Support: Assistance is available in Hindi and English, ensuring wider accessibility.
  • Tele-Counselling Timings: Direct tele-counselling services are available from 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM on all working days.

A panel of seventy-three trained professionals, including principals, counsellors, psychologists and special educators from CBSE-affiliated schools, will provide support. Of these, sixty-one professionals are based in India, while twelve experts are located abroad, including Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman and the UAE.

 

Digital Resources for CBSE Board Exam Stress Management 2026

Along with telephonic support, CBSE has also strengthened its digital counselling resources. These materials have been made available on the official website to help students prepare effectively. The digital content focuses on structured study planning, emotional regulation techniques and self-care practices. According to CBSE, the resources are designed to be concise, engaging and easy to understand, helping students reduce anxiety and stay focused during preparation.

CBSE has encouraged students and parents to actively use these counselling services throughout the examination period. The board has reiterated that academic success depends not only on syllabus preparation but also on emotional stability and mental clarity. With helplines, professional counselling and digital guidance working together, CBSE aims to provide comprehensive support to Class 10 and 12 students preparing for the CBSE Board Exams 2026, ensuring a healthier and more balanced examination experience.
